Peggy Carter: Host of The Hydra

Sokovia, 1947

The echos of the preceding gunfight still reverberated off the concrete corridors of the bunker as Peggy Carter slowly came out from behind her cover. About a dozen bodies of Hydra troops laid on the ground, her deadly marksmanship having stopped them in their tracks. She had failed to notice it at first, not until her boot stepped upon the slowly growing puddle underneath, but the large glass tank beside the wooden crates that shielded her from the enemy's hot lead had been struck by a stray bullet. Peggy moved around to the front of the tank, looking at the strange mass which floated in the quickly draining water. Suddenly, the mass opened an obsidian eye. Before Carter could react, the clump of flesh threw itself against the tank where the projectile hit. Glass and water knocked Peggy to the floor as the heap rode out the current to freedom. Her skull hit the concrete hard. Not hard enough for any serious damage, but just enough to black out. Eyes struggled to open, but managed to long enough to see the silhouettes of octopus-like tentacles looming under the light above her...

The hours passed, and from the floor of the bunker arose something which was no longer Peggy Carter. Emerald tendrils protruding from her back floated in the air around her. A soaking wet uniform had been shed in favor of nothing at all, revealing large patches of slimy green skin that almost covered her body entirely. She had become more than just a vessel for the alien creature, the two had completely bonded into one inseparable entity. It told her there could be more like them, those who can join the singular mind of the Hydra, share in their bliss. Yes, others needed to know the elation which she now felt. Soon everyone would find ecstasy under the guidance of Madam Hydra...

After doing my Ginnifer Goodwin as Earth X Venom image, I was inspired to create another piece based on something from that series. In Earth X, Hydra is a mind controlling parasite that has hundreds of heroes and villains under it's control, all following the orders of the Hydra Queen. I liked that concept and added my own twist to it, turning one of Hydra's main oppressors in the MCU into it's new leader.
