Princess Leia in Marvel's Star Wars #106

 

On a mission to the planet Zeltros to seek military aid from the planet's leaders, a party held in honor of the arrival of the Rebel Alliance leaders is interrupted by the Nagai and the Tofs. Separated from Luke, Han, Lando, and Chewie, Leia is captured as the Nagai take the palace and it's party-goers hostage. Eventually managing to escape, Leia picks up a blaster and kicks off her one remaining high-heel (having lost the other during her capture), sneaking through the palace armed and barefoot in her reflective golden dress. 

In the mid-1980s, Marvel Comics had done some "photograph covers" on a few of their books. Inspired by these low-budget (but charming) images, I gave Carrie Fisher the blaster and golden dress which Leia wore in Star Wars #106 (1986) and put her in a background inspired by the actual cover of said issue.

  The Daleks had put up a good fight, but they were no match for the overwhelming number of Cybermen. With the battle won, the metal monsters gathered the remaining crew and passengers of the space cruiser, moving them aboard their command ship and directly into the cyber-conversion chamber. Among the prisoners was space-adventurer Amy Pond, who had received the space cruiser's SOS and came to aid in any way she could. Invasion of The Yolkians: Hill Valley Drones

  It was shortly after the opening of the Institute of Future Technology that the organization launched one of it's first major achievements. Inspired by the Pioneer probes of the early 1970s, Doctor Emmett L. Brown and the institute's Intergalactic Innovations division created a highly advanced satellite broadcasting a message of peace and goodwill for anyone in the depths of space who might hear it's signals. Little did they know they'd receive a response so soon. The Yolkians began their siege at the satellite's place of origin, abducting many of the facility's staff and volunteers, Clara Clayton Brown being among them. From her, the aliens learned that the Institute had access to machines capable of traveling through time, something which piqued the interest of the invaders.
