The Dalek Invasion 2150 AD: Louise

It was Dr. Who's latest and greatest invention yet: Tardis, a machine that traveled both space and time. On the outside, Tardis looked like an ordinary police box, but inside it's surprisingly large interior was a series of complex controls and computers to help navigate the fourth dimension. He was preparing to take his niece Louise for a trip to the London of the future when he suddenly remembered there was a kettle boiling in the kitchen. An accidental touch on the control panel from Louise activated Tardis, leaving it's creator to watch in horror from the doorway of his cottage as the machine let out a wheezing, grinding noise as it slowly faded into the future.

Louise pulled back the wooden doors of the police box and stepped out into the world that was nearly 200 years away from her own. Buildings were in shambles, destroyed cars littered the streets, and there wasn't a single person in sight. With no choice but to go out and look for somebody to help her understand the controls of Tardis, Louise ventured out into the wasteland that was once London. Strange objects of various colors moved as a unit down the empty streets, surveying the burnt-out buildings. Louise wasn't quite sure what these things were, but perhaps they would know what happened to everybody...

The Daleks led the time-lost lady inside their ship, shuffling her into a circular room with a small white table in the center. On the table was a folded black suit, and beside that, a black helmet with some type of radio mounted on the left side. Her captors demanded she put on the clothing laid out before her, which she begrudgingly complied. The suit was made of a thin rubber-like material, which hugged the curves of her naked skin inside and tightly wrapped around her fingers and toes.

Louise picked up the black helmet and placed it on her head, her eyes now hidden behind the silver visor mounted inside. Invisible radio-waves honed in on the helmet's antenna, it's malicious message now being beamed into Louise's brain. Thoughts of hatred towards the Daleks, escaping, and going home were washing away like leaves in a flowing stream, replaced with ones of compliance, servitude, and loyalty to the Dalek Empire. Louise was a servant of the Daleks now, a role she seemed more than happy to be in...

A manip based on the Robomen from the 1966 film Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD (a movie that loosely adapts the Doctor Who serial The Dalek Invasion of Earth). The character of "Louise" (portrayed by Jill Curzon) served as the replacement for the role Barbara Wright had in the original television serial. For this image, I created a two variations: one where Louise was wearing a Roboman helmet, and another without.

(Above): Louise sports the latest in Dalek mind-enslavement technology (which I tried to make as close to the ones seen in the film itself).

(Above): While the helmet is a nice detail, sometimes it's OK to just let your hair down after a long day of patrolling London.
